Indy Driver Gives Teens a New Perspective on Road Safety

Our Indianapolis driver, Aaron Williams, also known as “Quick," shared his amazing experience with the Street Survival Teen Driving Program in Joliet, Illinois, hosted by the Chicago Region SCCA. The Street Survival Teen Driving Program helps teens stay safe in their communities while also exposing them to potential career opportunities. 

Aaron spoke during the classroom session, covering safe driving practices and highlighting many of the dangers drivers face from a truck driver's perspective. His presentation was so well received that he received a standing ovation.

Aaron then led a tour of his truck for each student and several parents, giving them the opportunity to see the road from the driver's seat. Cars were positioned around the truck to demonstrate visibility limitations, and participants also received a brief tour of the truck's interior. 

Several students even asked what it takes to become a truck driver, so we may have some future drivers in this group. Aaron was also very direct about the importance of staying off their phones while driving, a lesson that clearly resonated with everyone in attendance.

Fun fact: Aaron has known members of the SCCA for more than 10 years through his passion for track racing, one of his favorite hobbies! 🏎️
