We're pleased to share a video message to all Knight Drivers from Joe Vitiritto, our new President of Knight Transportation.
Joe has more than 30 years in trucking, including 17 years at Knight, and understands what drivers experience on the road. In this message, he talks about his leadership approach, his commitment to safety, honesty, and listening - and his focus on helping you earn a strong paycheck and get home consistently as the freight market improves.

Same song, different verse. I don't have any high or low expectations that things are going to be any different now. No new trailers, defective equipment, and being treated like a second class driver who is punished even when doing exactly what this company says to do.
Some overall structure changes would be useful. Knight should employ at least one dedicated local driver (paid by day) per terminal (more in high traffic areas) to allow OTR drivers to drop loads at terminals in a line haul type arrangement which would save their hours, increase happiness and therefore retention. These locals would also maintain a stock of at least 5 empty trailers at the terminal by grabbing them off nearby locations to further enhance operational efficiency for OTR drivers. This is common sense. Keep the OTR drivers rolling and knight’s profits keep rolling. Considering Knight has positioned itself as a training company with high turnover by design, it would behoove you to invest in equipment and facilities so…
Before we sign our owner op lease agreement we are told that we can turn down loads of we don't want that area or taking us but yet told that we will piss off allot of people for declining loads! At what point does the shoving work down drivers throats stop? At what point does no mean no? At what point do the owner op drivers get better treatment? We spend thousands of dollars a month putting back into the company to only be ignored and tested like a number? Loaner trucks can't be turn up to our speed, shops bandage instead of actually fixing it out told it need to go to dealer, trailers are disgusting and very limited,…
I've been in this business for a long time, and I don't think people appreciate how solid Knight is as a company. I've been both company driver and owner operator, and you'd think by listening to people that it's a bad company. It's not. If you don't like it, try somewhere else. You're free to go anywhere you want. Trucking is always what you make of it. Don't whine about not getting miles if you're turning down loads. Don't blame your DM. Most of the time their job consists of acting as your go between with the people that are trying to make sure we have freight to run. I have a nagging suspicion that the negative comments are from…
We need more trailers, that's where things need to improve if anything else doesn't! We are tired of struggling to find empty trailers please correct that issue of nothing else
